We know that self-esteem is closely tied to one’s personal appearance, as well as to ones body image. For men suffering from obesity or excessive weight gain, there is a constant battle to maintain one’s self-esteem, to feel truly attractive and masculine as a man and to enjoy the ability to wear stylish, tailored clothing. This self-esteem factor naturally affects our happiness and quality of life and may even influence such psychological conditions as anxiety, insecurity, lack of self-confidence, isolation, and social awkwardness. Self-esteem struggles can also lead to general avoidance of exercise and physical activities, which can lead to depression and physical and psychological fatigue.
